Another Tiny D6 Bundle - Tiny Zine

This is a new offer of four compilation volumes containing 44 issues of Tiny Zine, a magazine for the Tiny D6 system:

https://bundleofholding.com/presents/TinyZine

One volume has been in a previous offer, the rest are new to these bundles.

At a quick look I think these are good value and well worth considering if you're using the system.

Fic: A Timely Interruption [T; Jurassic Park OT; Alan/Ian]

T; Jurassic Park OT; Alan Grant/Ian Malcolm, 5800 words. Canon divergence post-The Lost World.

"All right, all right," Ian said dryly, dropping heavily into the chair across the desk from Alan. "Go ahead and say it. Get it out of your system."

And another Bundle - Tiny D6

This is a repeat of a big bundle of material for the TinyD6 system from Gallant Knight Games:

https://bundleofholding.com/presents/2025TinyMega

This covers a lot of genres with a minimalist rules set. Last time I said (edited slightly) "This is an interesting offer because it covers such a wide range of genres, but it isn't especially cheap and whether you actually need all of them may be another matter. If you're already using this system and don't need to buy a lot of it, or already have systems you like for some of the genres and don't want to change, it may be a better idea to cherry-pick and just buy the bits you need....  ...a lot of this material was in two bundles offered in September 2020 - Tiny Dungeon, itself a repeat, and TinyD6 Worlds, and if you've already bought either or both you may find a lot of this offer redundant. Again, the best advice I can give is to cherry-pick!

Freeoffice?

Anyone here use Freeoffice for Mac? I need a decent word processor etc. for my Macbook Pro (2015), apparently Libre Office is no longer compatible, and I'd prefer not to get involved in the Microsoft morass. My Windows box is my main platform for word processing etc., and Libre Office is fine on that, I just need something compatible for occasional use on the laptop.

Freeoffice appears to be free, but I'm worried that there might be snags or hidden costs that aren't mentioned on their site. Anyone know anything?

https://www.freeoffice.com/en/

Later - seems OK if a bit limited - no spreadsheet or drawing app - but it'll do for basic word processing.

Later later - I forgot to say that FreeOffice also says 10.15 as the minimum, but unlike LibreOffice it installed and seems to work properly on 10.13.

Fic: the admission of promise (is a recognition of something already there) [T; The Gorge]

T; The Gorge (2025); Drasa/Levi Kane, 2000 words. Slight canon divergence AU.

They were now each other's place to stand; together, maybe they could do the impossible and move the world.

T; The Amateur (2025); Charles Heller & Inquiline. 200w, for [community profile] bethefirst.

Charlie's figured it out, what she'd been doing.

Another Two Repeat Bundles - Girl Genius Comics

Two repeat bundles for Girl Genius comics, which are RPG-adjacent due to the existence of GURPS Girl Genius and the long association of the authors with the RPG industry.

GIRL GENIUS 1 (previously offered Oct 2020)
   https://bundleofholding.com/presents/2025Genius

GIRL GENIUS 2 (May 2023)
   https://bundleofholding.com/presents/2ndGenius2025

This is pretty much a no brainer, as I've said before. It's great value and a fantastic read. But I should probably point out that if you've previously bought either bundle no new material is added.

Another one-day Games Con - Ruby Con

Leisure Games will be running a one day games con in Finchley, London on September 6th to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital and celebrate their 40th anniversary. I'm not going to be able to make it due to family stuff, but the details are on line here

https://leisuregames.com/pages/saturday-6th-september-ruby-con-our-40th-anniversary-celebration

Entry is free, they'll be selling goody bags to raise money for the charity, and I assume other fund-raising things will be happening.

Another RPG Bundle - Ironsworn-Starforged

This bundle presents Ironsworn, Starforged, and Sundered Isles from Tomkin Press, which use Powered by the Apocalypse for solo and refereed games, with SF and fantasy settings included:

https://bundleofholding.com/presents/Ironsworn

So far I've only had a good look at the Starforged rules, which is a very nicely presented game although it does fall into a few common SF tropes - most notably the "jungle planet", "desert planet" idea where an entire world has only one type of environment, which seems just a little unlikely. The rules are more complicated than I like, but that's pretty common for games based on the Powered by the Apocalypse mechanics. Art is very good - I suspect that some AI is involved given the sheer quantity, but it's a lot less obtrusive than some I've seen, and the characters depicted rarely fall too deeply into the uncanny valley. Characters seem to be dressed appropriately for safety and the environment, and there are no chaos spiky shoulder pads which is generally a good sign.

Overall, this is surprisingly cheap for what you're getting, and I think it's well worth a look.

Fanfic - Harry Potter / Buffy / Bedazzled - Harry Potter: Undazzled - IV

This is a crossover between the Harry Potter books, the Buffy The Vampire Slayer TV series, and the film Bedazzled (1967, not the 2000 remake), with some other crossovers and Easter eggs, so far including Dogma (1999). All characters belong to their respective creators / owners / megacorporations of doom and not to me, please don't sue...
